They are cage free. Not sure if they were fertilized, but I heard that if you crack some open and there is a whitish circle in the yolk it is fertilized? Idk. I'm new to hatching eggs- I've hatched some specifically bred ones for a friend a couple years ago. I've also gotten a incubator made from a cooler... But is it possible to hatch cage-free Great Value eggs? I'm willing to answer any needed questions.

Not just a circle, that's the germinal disk (the nucleus of the egg where the sperm needs to go) all eggs have these

What you are looking for is a 'target' (like target's(tm) target) that's a germinal disk with the ... well other sperm exclusion circle...

(I forgot the name of that structure)

[ Once the first sperm has successfully invaded the zona pellucida of the egg, a remarkable event takes place. The membrane that surrounds the egg within the zona fuses with the membrane of the sperm, and the sperm and the egg become one. Also at this moment the outer zona pellucida becomes transformed into a rigid barrier so impenetrable that other sperm, despite all the chemicals in their acrosomes, cannot possibly enter.]

If the hens run around with roosters the eggs will quite likely be fertile, but if the eggs are sold by a big, commercial egg farm... it's unlikely there'll be any roosters around. "Cage Free" can mean a lot of things.
If you crack the eggs open look for a little white bullseye on the yolk, that's the sign of a fertile egg.

Ive worked for walmart for a number of years and our eggs come in by the pallet full...im would say you would not have much luck with hatching due to the very low temps the eggs are stored at...slightly above freezing

Cage free doesn't always mean fertile. I bought eggs of the cage free and fertilized eggs. We hatched 4 of 12 the fertile white eggs. Those eggs were kept 40 degrees and 10 days old.
