I have set up my brooder in my bedroom due to kids and cats. That being said...my room is now 85 degrees because of the heat light over my brooder - (my brooder is a large clear plastic storage container about 14" high) - My babies seem comfortable but I am not. Can I have my ceiling fan on very low and crack a window as long as I don't feel a breeze around the brooder? The babies are 7 days old now. What do you think?

sure! I did that, and as long as you keep the drafts off them they'll be fine.. I bet your room has that wonderful "fresh Barn " smell like mine did! LOL.... My husband did'nt care for it. It didn't bother me any.

Thank you for the helpful info and the welcoming encouragement! I have been completely cleaning my brooder each day to keep the smell down. In fact I have simplified the process my getting 2 of everything from the box to the feeder and waterer. That way all I have to do is transfer them into the clean brooder each time. They seem a lot less stressed.
