Can I keep a bunny in my closet?

The shelter in which I will be adopting a rabbit from strongly disapproves the act of keeping your bunny outside. The chances of them allowing me to adopt from them will be significantly lower if I chose to keep my rabbit outside. So I will probably setup a lovely spot for my bun in the garage. Then I will decide if I am ready to invite it all the way inside. I’m sorry for not mentioning this earlier, it just slipped my mind.

This is a great thread, I enjoyed reading all the comments.

Personally, I have seen lots of people online claim wire cages and outdoor housing is bad, and it drives me crazy! So it was fun seeing people discuss this here.

From what I hear, having a house rabbit sounds like more work almost than keeping them outside...but I wouldn't know. And not to say having a house rabbit wouldn't be fun.

And actually, after we moved my two pet rabbits from inside to outside, they almost seemed happier and healthier than when they were inside. People say it's dangerous outside, but rabbits can and will adapt. Mine don't blink at the lawn mower or other yard tools anymore, and my one rabbit, Lion in particular, loves to sit out in even the worst storm. --Just to give you some more info. :)

I think any of your plans--the closet, garage, or outside would work. It's just what you think will be easiest to care for the rabbit, and what you prefer.

They all say that but definitely a ridiculous rule. Locate a Bunny from another source..

Thank you! I love to hear what works for others so I can try to implement some elements into my future rabbit’s life. Would you mind uploading a photo of your outdoor setup to this thread? I would love to see it!
