The one I got today has electrolytes and vitamins, but I had to get the probiotic separately.

I use a supplement that has both electrolytes and probiotics in it - it's Poultry Vit Tropical - I get it from the feed stores near me. So I would think it's fine to mix them, but I do only use a batch for 24 hrs at a time. I have Ameraucanas too, they are great!
Yes, I have used Vitamins with Lactobacillus by Rooster Booster from TSC and many feed stores which has vits, lytes, and probiotics. Many of the name brand feeds now contain probiotics which is usually listed on the bag.
Thanks again MamaChick! OK, no refrigeration and I change their water daily anyway. They don't kick too much of their pine chips into it since I built them a little table. Just a short piece of 1/4" plywood with flat side down 2 x 4 legs. Just wide enough and long enough for them to be able to "belly up to it". As they grow taller in another week, I'll turn the 2 x 4 legs up to make their table taller; nothing gets into the water then.
Oh, and they absolutely love, love, love smashed up boiled eggs! Is it true they grow faster if given boiled eggs?
My Ella is great with them! She loves going out to the coop with me. That pic was about 3 years ago when we raised them from chicks so they were all able to know each other. So cute.OH! I just noticed your photo of the dog and chick! My chihuahua/terrier mix just loves my chickies too! She has to smell them all over when I hold them.
I haven't hatched any Ameraucana eggs yet, but I was researching it and I read that even if you have a "matched" pair (ie, two blues or two lavenders) that you only have a 50% chance of getting an identical chicken, 25% chance it will be a splash, and 25% chance it will be black. Haven't tested this out yet, but I'm sure I will in the future.Do your Ameraucanas come out looking all colors? My daughter said she bought Lavender Ameraucana hatching eggs, but our second generation chicks are all colors! We even have a solid black one! Some gray (lavender?) and some yellowish white ones from a prior batch. All from one roo and one hen, both supposedly Lavender.
