He probably will try to mate with them but he might be to aggressive towards them so they will try to stay away from him but he is probably a sweet roo so i wouldn't worry.

my roo is only 10 weeks at moment and does have a hen silkie fingers crossed he only goes for her , my polish are 4-7 weeks and at moment i keep them apart but want to let them all out together

I would wait until your 4 week olds are bigger before putting them together. I have had no problems integrated them at that point.

Roos will mate with any chicken they can catch. So if you want purebred eggs you will have to keep them separate once they are mature.

Yes.. The mixes are adorable too! I am in an opposite situation. My roo is a silkie (as well as another roo who is a sizzle) and they both mate my polish hen.

Hi,
I am currently hatching 12 polish eggs, 12 days into incubation and I believe all are fertile. I too would like to mix them with silkies when they are older so this is very interesting thread. I am also new to chicken raising and very excited at the prospect of hatching chicks. Good luck!
