Hi,
I am currently hatching 12 polish eggs, 12 days into incubation and I believe all are fertile. I too would like to mix them with silkies when they are older so this is very interesting thread. I am also new to chicken raising and very excited at the prospect of hatching chicks. Good luck!

i have just hatched 2 eggs one polish and one silkie , i also have silkies and polish 6 weeks + and already im hooked . if they do mate i will post pics

Here is another one that is for sure fathered by my sizzle

This is my sizzle. He is a silkie in every way except the feathering. He gives off regular silkie chicks if bred with a silkie, or frilkies or sizzles.. Anyway.. They look similar to their mother I find. Their faces anyway

aoxa , mine said 3 hahhahahaha i have 9 now and only had them 6 weeks , he says ' we will hatch more' , but i dont think he has thought about it as i will not want to let them go

then i will blame him for hatching so many

I just counted. I have 109 (that includes the 2 geese, 15 ducks and 2 turkeys as well). :|

I will be using some boys for meat when they are big enough. We have a big show/sale coming in September and I will sell off quite a few, so I won't be over-wintering that many.

I can't let go of girls.. or have a really hard time. Unless they are going to good homes. Silkies are even harder to let go of! Also.. I have a dog that looks very similar to your avatar
