No, if only it were so simple. Homozygotes for the creeper gene are not viable.If the legs get too short the chicks have a hard time pushing out of the shell. if you are successful you will have to help future generations hatch. This is a big problem for people that breed show japs

The beak starts the process of cracking & 2ipping the shell but it's the legs that help the chick turn to finish 2ipping & then kick loose once the end of the shell is open.I thought its the beak that crack and pushes away the shell not the feet?
They are saying that if you have 2 birds carrying the creeper gene & breed them together it can be deadly to the chicks because it causes a severe mutation that kills them.Im sorry,
