Can I put a duck with my two chickens?

My friend's duck just hached 5 eggs and he offered me one. Only problem is that if I keep him I would have to make room for a small kiddy pool. Would they get along or will my chickens drown in the kiddy pool?

grown chickens will not drown, but baby chicks can.

My ducks stay with the chickens, however just know that ducks are very messy so plan on cleaning waterers and their area more often.

My ducks have a 'duck house' that they NEVER use. I try chasing them in it, and they lived it in for WEEKS before I let them out on the pond. Now, they come up to the coop and spend the days with the chickens... and last night decided to move into the run for the evening.

Never had an issue, they all get along great...

I'm just scraping duck poo off my shoes more often.

they should get along fine but i would let the duck get to about 10 or more weeks before putting it with the chickens

ducks can also drown. ust give very young ducks enough water to wade in; in a ver shallow pan if you are not there to supervise. I like to use old heavy frying pans..
