can i put a nest with squabs in it to another spot

Hi I recently put a post saying I am going to redo my pigeon shed and I want to know if I move the squabs but they stay in the nest and I put them in the cage and I put the parents in with them, will the parents still feed the squabs and look after them. When I do this they will be 13 to 14 days old and they will have a lot of feathers. The parents have already started to leave them uncovered and they are 9 days old. they are starting to get feathers and a being fed regularly. After about 8 hours I will put them in there new loft and I can put them I a pigeon box but in the exact same spot that they were originally in. we kind of have to do this this weekend because the female is soon due to have eggs again and we don't want her having eggs in an unstable environment. Please answer

The best answer that I can give is maybe. At this point in the game the cock is doing most of the feeding and the hen is starting a new reproductive cycle. Some will continue feeding if you move the squabs - some will not. I routinely put roller squabs on the breeding loft floor at 3 weeks old. My cocks take over feeding the whole lot. Pumping food until all are fed. If I tried this with homers, I would end up with a bunch of scalped or starving squabs. It all depends upon the nature of your birds.

the hen is still very much feeding and so is the male, but will the male still feed the squab in the cage and when they are back in there spot will they still accept it when it sqeaks for food

I would just try and see...like Sourland said it just depends on your birds....have you ever handfed babies before? You might want to look into that just incase before moving them...

All I really want to know at this stage is if I move the squabs and put the male with them is he more likely to feed them. They don't need heat they just need food

Some birds will no problems.
Some birds will not.
Be prepared to hand feed just in case.
Good news is it will only be twice a day and just for a week or so.
