That vet is only giving part of the picture. While Coccidia is mostly species-specific, it isn't always. Canine/feliine is species-specific, so humans cannot get it. Toxoplasmosis, however, is glaringly equal opportunity and will likely kill your rabbit - they do not respond well to antibiotics generally as they lose the helpful digestive bacteria, as well as the nasties. ProBiotics don't always work in time.

Among the other issues you're going to have is keeping their feed separate, while picking through hay won't hurt the chickens the presence of chicken poop in the rabbit hay is dangerous to the rabbits. Pellets will be nibbled by both, our rabbits adore poultry feed - grr!
