If he/she picks them up in Maryland?
I know that I can't ship chickens to VA but I have someone wanting to buy some hens and pick them up.
And I want to know the legality of it since "I know" that they are from VA.
I'm a stickler for following the rules.

I live in Va and have had both hatching eggs and chicks shipped to me thru the mail but never any grown chickens. As far as I know we do still have the given right to buy grown fowl anywhere and bring them to our home. Va does have some( in my opinion) really dumb, over protective regulations concerning poultry. We use to have some really great poultry shows here but the powers to be put an end to it. I suspect that there is a powerful lobbying by the huge broiler industry in some parts of the state that are in total control of these regulations...

puredelite i see your in the blueridge mountians same here nice to find somebody from here yes not many shows but still is a few good polutry auctions around

the way I see it..

you want to sell the birds to someone in Maryland... AFTER the point of sale its no longer your concern what the new owner does with them or where s/he moves them to... they are no longer your birds... you did not sell in VA..
