Hi there! Pictured is my 4 month old lavender/self blue Cochin pullet. Fair is at the beginning of August and I am aloud to show a chicken her age but my concern is if I will be aloud to show her. Are self blue Cochins purebred/ will they allow her? They are judging with the APA standards and I do have my standard of perfection however I didn’t see her color in the Cochin section- only blue Cochins. Any help is appreciated!

She is old enough to show, she won't be mature so you will get docked for that. Self Blue Cochins are purebred, however they are not an accpeted variety(it is in the process though). So the highest she would be able to place would be BV(Best of variety)

She will be 6 months old when I’m showing her will that count as “mature”?

It depends on the bird, mature means correct feathering in, weight etc. So she might be by then but like I said it all depends on the bird
