Can i take away the food and water at night?

What kind of chickens do you people have that eat in the dark? I've never seen a chicken that even moved after dark.

Lolz ChickenLegs13, I was thinking the same thing but then I saw mention of a light and I assumed the reference was to chicks not grown up girls

I do not think I could afford to feed my girls 24/7 lol.

In the morning my girls get enough food for the day and when I get home, they are treated to afternoon tea. I leave the water in the run each evening but take away any uneaten food when they go off to bed.

The OP said 6 week old chicks in east Texas. I wouldn't think thay're still be on a nightlight.

Hhhhm, OK, I have no experience with chicks, brooders and lights having only experienced hatches with broody hens and yep, those little guys and mum do not move from sun down to sun up

I am definitely going to keep an eye on this thread as I am now intrigued as to why chickens would be eating at night

I dunno either, maybe he has those giant meat chickens that need to eat 24 hours a day.
