It's more for the idea. You could make a regular door or create a run off of the side where the shed doors are and skip the $200.

Although automatic doors are nice they really are an extra.
A regular door made of wood works well. One just has to go out there to open and close it.

Mesh is the most costly material, other stuff you might be able to scavenge,
better start finding and saving it up now.

Remember...What came first the chicken or the egg? ..The Coop!!
Best to have coop done well before you get chicks,
they grow fast and building the coop will take longer than you think.

Chickens came from dinosaurs not coops
The egg came first then the chicken
Then the human and then we built coops but chickens prefer trees than coops that’s why I keep mine in a tree but I do have an egg laying coop that I made out of spare bricks

I have three old kids playhouses that I have converted into coops and runs. The best way you could convert your is definitely a run from the side. Mesh will be your biggest cost but probably the most important. The rest can be refined over time.
