Can I turn a shed into a coop?

Ah, Thank you.

Yes it makes a huge difference. You likely get a lot of snow so taking into consideration the weight of snow on a run top will make a difference in how it is constructed.

Hoop runs when supported properly are very strong and can be tarped to keep snow out.

They can also be easily added onto as funds allow.

Hubby and I spent waaaaaaaay to long building an A frame coop that is very cute but a total PITA and I hate it! I seriously wish I'd pushed him to forget about it when we were half way through and just build a walk in - easier to clean, easier to access your birds when you need to go in after dark to deal with injuries or ilness, space to add a broody box etc etc etc! The plan was for us to get the 'big' coop done before this winter but of course our own house building has taken priority adn I have too many chickens in the A frame. Ah well we live and learn. I LOVE your shed it is so so so cute - I think many a chicken owner would give a back tooth to have a base like that to build on! Particularly with your weather I'd nto see a better solution! Good luck and let us know how you go.
