Can I unplug my incubator?

Hey guys, I am going to start incubating my eggs on Wednesday, and I realized that I have to be gone for a couple days, and I don't have an egg rotator. So I hatched out a plan ( no pun intended ) to safely transfer the eggs to my grandmas house so she can rotate them.... I want to see if they will be ok! Heres the plan:

I will unplug the eggs from the wall, and rush them ( gently ) to the car where it will be all nice and warm from it sitting in the sun all day ( I can also turn on the heaters if need be ) It's a 15 minute drive to my grandmas house and then I would immediately plug it in the garage. Do you think the eggs would be ok? Thanks!

They should be okay without you having to bake yourself on the drive to Grandma's house. Just place a towel over the incubator if your worried about heat escaping. Remember hens leave their nest occasionally to eat and drink.

It was over 108° here, so the thought of anyone turning on the heater makes me worry about their health! I'm like noooo, save yourself, you have so much more to live for...

I have done the same thing with the drive being over an hour, and had great results.

They will be fine The power went off due to a storm on my incubator for 2 hours and all 3 eggs that where in there while the power went out hatched.

I also had good results, and the temp was below freezing. I wrapped the incubator in a blanket and moved it 45 minutes during a power outage. One tip I would strongly recommend: put them in something. If you don’t have a turner, use cartons or something. You don’t want them rolling around.

Agree. Physical handling of the eggs is more important than the temp, for that brief of a time. Pack them carefully and try not to let them rattle and bang around on the drive.

I transported some almost-ready-to-hatch eggs from my farm to my house, about 50 minute drive, in a butter bowl, individually wrapped in paper towels, rode with the bowl between my thighs. Transferred to the incubator, all 4 hatched. (broody or her sisters had killed the first few hatchlings, so I took the remaining eggs)

Yup they'll be fine. In January we had a power outage the day before hatch so I brought the incubator to work with me and hatched them there lol. Lucky me because I ended up stuck at work since no one could make it in because of the blizzard, so at least I didn't have to worry about them.
