can I use cardboard egg carton to put my egg flat laying in there?

I'm getting ready for lock down and I'm inventing silly yet helpful things so that I can handle everything from the outside inside (if it makes any sense). I have cut the carton so thin so that the whole egg is actually open, its just a very tiny part of the egg that is covered at the bottom from the carton??? Thanks
