Quote:Google it. Real lard has to be refrigerated though....I heard of people buying it on line I thought a bit back. I can't remember any websites though.

Quote:Lard doesn't taste like bacon! It's like a food group all it's own. [IMG] Sweet tea is about the only thing in the south I can think of it's not used in... [IMG]

I'm funny tonight huh? I thought it was anyways. [IMG]

I really like sweet tea too....maybe I will make some.

Will you eat spinach or asparagus if it has lard in it?

If I'm going to eat asparagus it better have lard or something else good in it, because you know I hate that stuff. [IMG] I'd just go out in the pasture and graze before I'd eat asparagus!

Besides, you eat fruitcake...[IMG] anybody that would eat a fruitcake would eat ANYTHING! [IMG] [IMG]

Quote:Are you serious? All the grocery stores here carry it. They do only sell the little pails now though instead of the 5 gallon cans we used as a kid.
Seriously, I know I'm in the South, but I thought everybody used lard...

Who knew? I learn something everyday.

I don't even think you can get lard here in California. I've NEVER seen it in any grocery store, and I have NEVER cooked with it, not even once, in my whole life.

Um, about the lard, I grew up on the stuff. Then the moms around here decided(without discussion) that it was going to kill us all. Now we have to find something else!

Quote:It's true too! My granny only lived to be 103, if she hadn't have ate all that lard she'd still be with us. Oh well, I guess them experts are a lot smarter than us country folk? [IMG]
