can i use lard in cookies instead of shortening??

If I'm going to eat asparagus it better have lard or something else good in it, because you know I hate that stuff.

I'd just go out in the pasture and graze before I'd eat asparagus!

Besides, you eat fruitcake...

I don't even think you can get lard here in California. I've NEVER seen it in any grocery store, and I have NEVER cooked with it, not even once, in my whole life.

Don"t tell anyone cause it probably not very southern, but I will eat asparagus rolled in olive oil, dousted with sea salt and Ms. Dash, and baked in oven.

Um, about the lard, I grew up on the stuff. Then the moms around here decided(without discussion) that it was going to kill us all. Now we have to find something else!
