Can I use paper towels as a alternative incubator liner?

Will I be able to use paper towels as incubator liner?
I have before when hatching chickens (a lot of them). The towels I was using (Viva) had one side that was smoother and one that was rougher.. I used them with the rougher side up for more grip/traction.. and also never had issues with splayed legs or any other real concerns. Made for easy clean up after hatch. As with everything your mileage may vary.. so always use YOUR best judgement.

Happy hacthing! :fl:jumpy:jumpy

Paper towels are better than newspaper or nothing but I love that no slip shelf liner stuff. I’m also using a reusable Guinea pig cage liner (cut and hemmed to size) in my brooder instead of paper towels (would not work well in a small incubator). Has anybody tried something like fleece or other sturdy fabric? I’ve heard about hand towels but I’d worry about little feet getting caught in the loops or loose strings?
