Hi. Sorry if this has been asked I couldn't find it anywhere. I have a Farm Innovators that got crushed! It has successfully hatched like 7 hatches, so I'm bummed. The Shopper's supply only has an LG with no fan. Can I swap out the fan from the crushed incubator? Also mine was the old kind with the heat element which I hated bc it burned the chicks so the LG is digital which I'm excited about, I just hope it's not crap and for $46 I'm aware of you get what you pay for. I had no problem babysitting the incubator I'm a stay at home mom and I keep the incubator in my bathroom attached to my bedroom but it's gotta at least be functional. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes, you can use other fans, some people even use computer fans in their incubators. As long as you are home to monitor the LGs you can make them work, but you MUST and I can't stress it enough have your own thermometers/hygrometer that are checked for accuracy because the digital LGs are unreliable for temps and humidity gages. Also, you want to make sure that sensor that hangs down doesn't get moved around as it will cause major flunctuations.

I use an old lg9200 and I know how hot and how easy it is to get burned my the element. I've had a couple chicks mark their head with it, not to mention the open faced fans that were installed in these.

Hi. Thanks for the advice. I thought about my options for days now. The incubator I really want is the FI with everything and it's on sale at TS for $119. Which I don't have or even the $46 and I have 2 dozen fertile eggs sitting on my counter. I have decided that I just need to fix my crushed incubator and buy the incubator I want later I guess. So here's the next question. Is this in any way going to work? The middle Styrofoam piece between the two windows cracked in half all the way through. I just now superglued it together and then scotch taped it. I can add duct tape? When could I use it? I would of course have to run it for a day and see if it even holds temp. The pieces fit back together pretty good. Pic after the repair. Arrows point to the cracks and repair. Thanks again

Oh wow I'm an idiot. I should have passed my brilliant idea past you folks before I did it. The Super glue ate the Styrofoam, how did I not know that would happen?! Now I'd have to like stuff the holes and duct tape it at this point. Or just give my eggs away. Just barnyard mix.

I totally want to. I've read a lot on here. I don't know why I'm so daunted, I even have an 18 year old son who built his own computer and can help me.
