I am wondering if it will stress the bird too much if I use Eprinex to de worm and some kind of poultry powder for lice at the same time? My chickens do have lice, but I don't know what kind. Thanks!

I'm no expert, but I would be a little worried about stressing them too much. However, I know some people use external (invermectin I think) which kills internal and external parasites all at once.

I use Ivermectin and it takes care of everything except tape worms, which I've yet to see in my chickens.

Every time I bleed my birds for a show, I dump a full cap-full of "Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On" solution onto each bird. It's a routine part of my flock management, and is done regularly in the spring and fall. The bantams get a half cap-full. I've never had a problem with lice or mites, and, my birds are HEAVY. I also follow up twice in spring and twice in the fall with Wazine. I actually got the suggestion my a friend of mine who works in the USDA. If he's free, he stops by to help out with the birds when we are bleeding for testing.

I did a routine worming with Wazine and now 2 days later I found lice on new chickens (not with my flock), can I use 5% pour on Ivomec so soon after the Wazine?

Catkai, two days after using wazine is too soon to use the ivomec for the lice...the earliest would be the 10th day, you want the ivomec to kill roundworm larva and other types of worms too. Also, it would be too much wormer introduced to your chickens in such a short period of time. I recommend you dust them with sevin dust which can be purchased at walmart, or any home improvement store for about $10 for the large canister. You have to dust their house, nests, roosts etc...and repeat dusting in 10 days including your chickens.

I believe it was Sonoran that also stated that you can put it under the wings. There are more places and it's easier to put it their then it is on the back of the neck.

I did this with my youngsters and they have no lice or mites. I used Poultry dust for my Silkies and they got mites.

Wanted to see which way was better.
