Can molting change a chickens color?

She started molting a couple of weeks ago. All her lower back feathers were missing from the rough rooster. She also has 4 week old babies right now. First pic shows her new feathers growing in... brown instead of white like the old ones. She is a mix of mom, GLW, and dad Black Star. Is she going to be a brown chicken after this is over?

Yes, recessive genes can come out with a molt.
How fun for a hen to completely change what she looks looks like! Does this only happen with mixes? Is it possible she will change back in subsequent molts? Will she get along better with different chicken family members since they usually befriend the ones that look the same as them?
