I set some mouse traps around the cages and took care of most things of themTry any of the box-type traps so your quail cannot enter & get harmed.
So i went out tonight and two were in the quails hides , gahh , it hate mice. I have mice traps out there but need to put peanut butter on them ( right now they have some quail food in I'm but that's not working ) .
Jam/jelly (not sure where you are) works. Anything sweet and sticky that they can't just pick off the trap.So i went out tonight and two were in the quails hides , gahh , it hate mice. I know , That's what I tell my brothers when we play the " which one would you make extinct " game , haha ."Hate" ... is a harsh word. Remember what master Yoda said: “Fear is the path to the dark side…fear leads to anger… anger leads to hate… hate leads to suffering.”
All these moskitos, wasps, mice, rats ... etc., we feel nasty about, are an important part of the food chain and the source of the variety of life of our planet.
All creatures got their will for life .
E.g. here in Germany, for me as quail holder, public enemy no. 1 are martens. I was really angry that I'll need to spend a lot of money and work, to secure my aviary against them and rats.
But ... one of our breeder in the breeders club, is working as a zookeeper and they are coddling up wildlife animals, which were giving to them, because they were hit by a car, lost their mother... etc.
At the moment he has a baby marten, he need to care 24/7, so he is also bringing it home, after work. Also to the breeding area, when he takes care of his chicken.
An absolute adorable creature, just what to life:

He told me, that it is not the fault of the marten, killing quails, it is just its instinkt, ... it'll be the fault of me, if any predator gets my birds, not securing the hutches, coop... etc.
Made me thoughtful ...
Think about it too!
