That is terrible! we have a whole pack here of coyotes and wolves.. you can 'hear' them often but i rarely see them, same goes with the bears and cougars.. it's night that is our worrisome time. Is the town doing anything about it? usually there not so bold!

They have no reason to fear humans. It is illegal to fire a gun or shoot a bow inside the boundaries of this area. Houses are too close together to shoot safely, even if it were legal.

Humans leave out all sorts of food for them: cat food, garbage cans, yummy stuff. Humans don't hurt them. So they just see people as food dispensers and not as any danger. Some people actually deliberately feed them to keep them around because they like to look at them.

Normal dogs can't run fast enough to catch them (a sight hound can catch them), so they have no fear of dogs. In fact, they will tempt a dog to chase a solitary coyote to get it off by itself and then the pack can close in and kill it.

I've seen video from large cities of the coyotes trotting around through the traffic in broad daylight. One of my friends has had coyotes walking along the top of her 5 foot high board fence, inside the city limits.

They are very clever animals and very adaptable. I don't have any problem with them, because I don't leave out anything for them to eat.

We have coyotes here, we have a pack of 20 that runs along our property. But we have big dogs, and the barking of the dogs keeps them away. we also have HUGE hawks around here, and one got really close to my ducks! I was scared, now everytime they see a shadow they run for cover. My ducks are clever.
