Can my chickens catch the flu from humans?

This is a SILLY question, I’m sure.

But I tested positive for the flu yesterday at the clinic. My friends at work are sick too. But can my chickens catch the “human flu”? I have read mixed feedback on google & I am scared. Please relieve my stress :’)

Generally, what we get, or animals get, aren't transferable to one another.

That said, I'd just be very cautious, wear a mask around them, and wash hands often.

First, there are no silly questions!

I am fairly certain my most recent COVID infection came from a close encounter with a sick white tailed deer.

I second wearing a mask around them for a couple reasons. 1) To protect them from any bacteria that could harm them and are running rampant in your weakened state. 2) to protect you from the fungi and bacteria in their habitat in your weakened state.

If someone else can tend them while you are sick, that is preferable.
