Can My EGG STILL HaTCH?

Nope! I have some in the incubator that will hatch out in about 10 days. Nope, I've never had to seal a crack and nope I'm not experienced.

I just see no reason not to try because it won't hurt anything (unless you don't pay attention to it and let it go rotten and explode). You really have to watch it closely so you don't infect the other eggs.

I wouldn't recommend nail glue because you have a hole there, and not a crack...you don't want any fumes wafting into the egg from the glue bottle. Wax would be best

Let me reiterate - don't put anything on that hole until you seal it off. This is basically like opening a door and putting a dent in the wall. You can't just shove paint on the wall and have it look like new. You have to use dry wall tape, and then the spackle right? Same thing with the egg - use the wax paper first.

You should be able to scroll up and read them on the other post still (it didn't disappear, it stays on the thread) but I'll post again here. Let me repeat myself though - I have never done this. But, since the other posters said just toss it - my directions can't be any worse than that. lol

Where has this egg been the entire time this thread has been active?? In the bator I hope. >.<

step 1) Cut a circle in wax paper or parchment paper (whichever you have available). Don't use ANY plastic wrap or tape...those are sticky and the membrane could stick, pull away, and then it's definitely hopeless.

step 2) Put the circle of wax paper over the hole *don't mess with the hole at all*...don't try to dig in there and pull the shell piece back up, don't dig around at all. Just lay the paper over the hole.

step 3) Light a birthday candle and let it drip *exactly* around the edges of the paper first - don't drip any on the center of the paper. This will attach the outer edges of the paper to the shell....creating a seal of sorts. Let it dry (should only take a few seconds). Then, drip the wax onto the center of the wax paper circle and make sure it covers it. you don't want a lot of wax in the middle because that would create too much weight and cave the sides in - not good. Just put enough on there so that the paper is covered.

step 4) Hold the egg gently in your hands and just hold it there...until the wax is dry.

step 5) Put it back in the bator.

Let me reiterate to you that I really don't believe this egg has a chance...not with a hole the size of a moon crater (in relation to size). BUT....I can see your desire to try and you may as well give it a go. The other option is tossing the egg and then you'll definitely never know.

ok i will tommorrow and ill give you pic, on here in privite message kk

Where is the egg at until tomorrow? I wouldn't suggest doing it tomorrow...the longer that egg is in the condition it is in, the longer "time" has to make sure that bacteria gets in there from the air. It needs to be sealed immediately if you want to make a go of it. Factoring in sleep and waking up and getting supplies and all of that it will be 10+ hours (way too long). It shouldn't be in the bator all night, either - that will dry out the membranes. I'd toss it if you can't get it this evening. =/
