So far Dottie appears to be healthy and broody. Her comb wattle and eyes look fine and she is pooping regularly. Not eating much or drinking much water but she did that the last time she went broody. She is on day 3 of acting up, day 2 of solitary confinement. Last time, it took 4 days. My Orps are the only ones that have done this. Her sister Marigold went missing for 6 days. I came to byc to look for answers to her disappearance and was almost convinced that she had been snatched by a predator. But since I didn't see any signs of attack, I held out hope. I also figured that a predator would probably not have gone for the biggest girl unless she had made it very convenient. Lo and behold, on the 6th day she came running up to me from who-knows-where (we have 44 acres) flapping and squawking and happy to see me. I still don't know where she went, but I assume she went broody and hunkered down somewhere and came back to the coop when a cold spell snapped her out of it. A day or two later, Dottie started acting broody and I put her in the rabbit building before she could take off. I'll update when I know more but I suspect by the middle of the week she will be back to my normal orp that I know and love.
