So I had a hen and a rooster today the rooster was killed by my dog
I was wondering if the hen could still be able to live alone. The Hen always followed the rooster when they were out roaming and catching crickets. So I was kinda concerned. PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

I am going to get new chickens in a couple of weeks I am wondering if it will be able to stay by itself until then?i don't use them for eggs either just as a pet.

Your hen will be feeling insecure and lonely which will cause her to be in a permanent state of stress eventually resulting in her becoming poorly but no ?'s are frowned upon everyone is here to help you with all concerns you may have with your hen:)

I'm sorry about the loss of your rooster.

It would be best if you could get your hen a friend (or even better, several friends) as soon as possible. Chickens are social flock animals and won't do well without companions.
