I have 5 old english game bantam chicks who are about a month old. They're doing great, but I've never raised this type of chicken before so IDK how well they can tolerate the cold. When I take my little blue old english game bantam chick out to mess with her, she shivers. I keep them indoors bc they needed to be warmer than my other chicks and when I do take them out of their little makeshift brooder, I keep them inside. This is a pic of her hanging out with me in the living room. I let her cuddle up to my neck bc she was shivering like she was a little cold, which is why I'm worried about their potential cold tolerance as adults.
They have a heat lamp and everything. We get pretty cold winters in Kansas. Sometimes it gets below 20 degrees. So I want to make sure that I have everything I need to keep them warm this coming winter, and not end up buying stuff last minute bc I underestimated the cold tolerance of my tiny chickens.
