Can pullets crow like this?

That's not necessarily true, Hens can in fact crow. It happens most often if you don't have a rooster or had one at some point but had to remove it and one of the dominant hens decides to 'take over' the job even to the point of mounting the other hens. It can also sometimes be caused by a hormonal imbalance. I'm not saying it isn't a male but you should know that, crowing hens do happen.

The difference is the birds you are referring to are mature hens of age - which is not true of the bird in question....which is why donrae specifically said "young pullets" when asserting the statement about crowing.
