Can Rhode Island Reds Be Yellow???

I tend to agree with the Buff Orpington call. However if it was a Gold Sex link hen, my understanding of the sex link process means the rooster is a different color than the hen. I have Buff Orpingtons that lay a lighter brown egg than my RIR hens.

well I did get two different breeds of chicks...i know both roos were rir and the red hens i have are rir so mayb all the golden ones i have are all sex links

by the way, can anyone tell me how long my chick needs a heat lamp? its boiling hot in my room because of it and its usually the coldest room in the house!

If they came from a hatchery then they are most likely Production Reds and not Rhode Island Reds.

I have RIR's. They came from a hatchery. RIR's are not yellow. Wether they are production or not.

I believe Chris was talking about the one's Southernbell is calling RIR, not the yellow hen in question.
