Interesting, and what about some instances where the one productive ovary goes south(is attacked by some disease and renders it inoperable). There are stories to this nature and has been reported when such instances occur the hen will show signs of changing gender towards male characteristics and actions too. What's your take on such instances as this.

I thought I spoke to that specific point- "can alter the physical appearance but a hen won't grow testes & a cock won't develope ovaries". Yes, in the case of diseased ovaries a hen may, because of hormone imbalance, develop secondary male sex characteristics. However, that hen will not grow functioning testes & truely become male.
