My hen’s left leg is bending inward at the thigh area. She is finding it hard to apply any pressure on it, although she is walking. Should I keep her separated? Am I supposed to “splint” it? Can I give her anything for pain?

Could be a dislocation or a break. To be honest without knowing what you are looking at splinting could cause more of an issue. What is her age? How long has she been like this? Has it been developing or seem to be a sudden trauma?

Can you feel it? Is it swollen or hot? Is there bone protruding? Is it just hanging. Are you able to post a pic or video?

Aspirin is the right med for avian pain relief.. but pain is there to slow us down so we don't injure ourselves worse. For that reason I would quarantine to stop her from exerting stress onto the leg at least while getting an assessment. Are you able to see a veterinarian for help assessing the condition? @Eggcessive knows aspirin doses and is also familiar with some leg deformities. :fl

I’m going to type real slow. This is the 3rd time I’ve tried, and I guess I keep doing something wrong, and it gets lost or erased.
Ok! Now! ...I’ve had her over a year and she was already fully grown. The way it looks is that her left foot is pointing in words and the area where her left high attaches looked swollen. I can tell, now that it is very hard and perhaps painful for her to support her own little body. She’s trying hard!! She’s eating and drinking and walking around checking out my living room! (Haha! So sweet!) There is no broken skin, blood or visible bruises. I noticed this when I let them out this AM. She was walking sideways, almost in circles to get to where she wanted to be! (Eventually) Very low to the ground.
Veterinarians don’t consider chickens as “people”, as we do. The only thing they would do is take my 60 dollars and put her down. She’s NOT dying! I will keep her inside with me for rest if you recommend. Splint? Any other way to help my sweet baby? Thank you for your help!!!
