can sick children make sick chicks?

My daughter has the flu.....was ok until after lunch. Now she can't hold anything down. Dry heaves all afternoon. She played with out week old chicks and day old ducklings just before lunch. Should I keep her away? Or can it not be passed along?

hers may be viral stomach bug. should not be contagious to chicks. could have caught something from chicks/ducks. they can carry salmonella and other bacteria which can cause gut symptoms. if she can't keep any fluids down, need to get in somewhere to get IV fluids. dilute gatorade or pedialyte is a good thing to start with.

Well I believe its the flu as its been going through the family(cousins) but I thought she already had her bat with it. And she is diabetic...I am on top of what's going in and out etc
