Can Silkies like with Layers

I’m only alowed a certain amount of hens where I live so would only one be bad or if they were introduced right could I?
I didn't realize you lived an area like that.

I don't think it'll hurt to try one, but it'll take more time for the others to get used to her.

An important suggestion, from me. When you get a silkie, is to get one without a vaulted skull? Those with vaulted skulls are more likely to be subject to brain damage, or death if pecked hard enough.

Yes, you could probably keep a silkie, but I'd recommend getting two. It's recommended with chickens with strange features (like crests and beard and muffs) to get two of those so they don't seem as strange to the other chickens, and the other chickens will be less likely to attack them. Integration will also be easier with two birds.
She says she can only get one.

I would also get two, they need a buddy.
The non vaulted skull types would be less fragile.
I raised my Silkies with standards and they have no problems at all in fact the silkies are the bosses!😊
Photos attached shows chicks that have a vaulted skull vs. chicks that have a non-vaulted skull.
