Can someone help me comprehend this labor law?

Interesting...one of the policies of Wal-Mart is that anyone under the age of 18 cannot sell acoholic beverages of any kind. They have to call another cashier or CSM to finish the sale for them.

I agree, every place I've worked that sold alcohol didn't allow minors to sell it. In Indiana, if the cashier was a minor, the customer had to scan the item themselves, in Florida, the minor cashier had to get another employee that was not a minor to complete the transaction.

I would say a liquor store would definitely be out, since that's their sole purpose for being in business. Like I said, you need to ask them when you go to apply, they'll know.

And I know that you said you don't want to work fast-food because it is too much work for too little pay, but what makes you think waitressing is so much better? Waitressing is just as hard, if not harder, than fast-food work, and depending on the time of day you're working, the area you live in, the customers you are serving, and the section you are working in, waitressing is not necessarily that much of a money-maker. I don't know what the minimum wage for waitressing is in Kentucky, but in Indiana (9 or 10 years ago

) it was only $2.18 an hour, plus tips.
