You can sterilize anything you want as long as you are careful with it.

Proceed with caution.

I take mine completey apart starting with removing the electronics and other pieces. Wash the top, bottom, water tray, liner, water wiggler, etc. in hot soapy water. Everything is rinsed and then soaked in bleach water then rinsed again. I use a cloth soaked in the bleach water solution, wring it out damp dry them wipe all the electronic pieces, the thermometers, etc. Dry it off and put it back together and set in the sun.
