Took this sweetie in. I know very minimal about ducks, but

what breed might this be? I'm assuming it's around 4 weeks.

A friend of my boyfriend got in over their head. So we took in the chickie and duckling.

The little black one is Arthur

The yellow one was a Pekin.
The little one that is black and yellow like yours is a Rouen.
She is Mawmaw!

I was curious what made your duckling a mallard so i googled this!

We have domestic mallards, so not necessarily a wild mallard baby. It depends on the source of the eggs...

You guys must have really good eyes because i honestly cant tell the difference in the mallard and rouen!

I don’t have Rouen experience, but I understand that they are several times bigger than mallards. The mallard marked duck in the pictures above looked to be light bodied, not like a heavy bodies meat bird. I certainly could be wrong!

Definitely mallard.
Rouen has two full facial stripes while mallards typically have one distinctive stripe
