I know this is a website for chickens but I had a question about my kitten if anyone can help. I have two kittens and they are both getting skinnier and skinnier. They are not throwing up but they were in the past but it was just clear fluid. I do give them Zyrtec I read it's okay to give it to them online but could it be causing them to lose weight? They do eat regularly and they do nearse on their mom. We have about 15 cats and a couple of months ago one got lost and came back with worms but he's better now. Could they have worms?

How old are these kittens? What food are they eating when they don't nurse? What is mom's biddy condition and diet? How long ago was the vomiting happening? What you have shared is very concrtning....really you need to consult a vet

I give them Zyrtec because they have really bad allergies and I read online that I should give them some every day. I'm not able to take them to the vet.

They are about a two months old they are currently eating kit & kaboodle. The mom eats the same food as the kittens the last time they vomited was about two weeks ago. My mom and dad don't want to take them to the vet because it's to expensive.

They may have a sinus infection...not allergies.

I would stop treated them with Z and treat them for worms.
Worms are very common in kittens and they will eat all the food the kitten eats...which is why you are seeing them losing weight.
It would actually be best if your took them to a vet because they most likely will need antibiotics too.

Really likely worms. If they're eating but not putting on weight, parasite is your most likely culprit. Deworm ASAP.

How do you know that they have allergies? What symptoms led you to believe that they are allergic?

Nursing kittens should not be given Zyrtec. You need to speak with a vet. Worms are a possibility, however, there are many types of worms, and they are too young for many types of wormers, especially if you are guessing at which type of worms they have.

What symptoms lead you to conclude they have allergies?
Have you considered resources for reduced cost or free alteration to prevent further breeding? I know finances are a concern, so this could help prevent you being further overwhelmed by more cats. These resources also sometimes have limited vet services available that might help with diagnosing and treating the existing population.
