Hi I do own chickens but I have a question about sheep. I'm planning on getting a sheep for my Ag program and I am wondering if my sheep needs a companion. She will be around dogs chickens horses and me every day. So I'm wondering if she will be okay by herself well I mean without other sheep? Can someone please answer this question for me! Thanks

What breed sheep are you getting?
Generally speaking, sheep are flock animals and prefer to be with other sheep.
If it is at all possible for you to get two or more sheep, that would be best since she may get lonely at night when you're not around.
And horses don't really hang out with sheep.
That being said, however, there are some who own one sheep and keep it with other livestock.
When I first purchased my sheep, I kept my ram separate from the ewes, so I kept him with the livestock guardian dogs.
The ram enjoyed running with the dogs and to this day he still follows the dogs around.
Good luck!

She won't be happy without another sheep around.
Horses can kill sheep, and sheep don't much care for dogs nor chickens
Also, it's not much harder to raise two instead of just one
