That would be my second guess. It honestly sounds like a Homer Simpson scream. I'm at a complete loss!

Yeah I noticed that as well, like a call and response.

It sounds like it could be a fox to me as well. We've got them here, and recently a fox was seen with 2 kits. My neighbor lost some ducks and she thinks it was the foxes that got them.

I can't get it to work with just the one call and a lot of background noise in the recording you posted, but the Merlin app is really good for IDs if it is a bird.

I second this. Fantastic app. I tried with this as well, but it wasn't enough audio for it to make an ID.
