Can someone post an ACCURATE photo?

Ameraucauna, Araucana and the EE.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to distinguish the 3?
I googled, and it showed the Ameraucauna with the Fluffy feathers around their face.
Then it showed the SAME image for the EE!
URG! I'm SO confused!

Here is a photo of MY baby - Luckie. WHAT is she?
(She DOES have the Super Fluffy feathers framing her face. But I kind of smushed them down when the photo was taken, so it doesn't look like it)

Here is another of my girls. Mora. Luckie's face looks like hers when her feathers aren't all smushed by mom! LOL

In short Araucanas and Ameraucanas are recognized APA/ABA breeds, while EEs are mutt chickens with the blue egg gene. The easiest way to distinguish Araucanas from Ameraucanas is that Araucanas don't have tails. Distinguishing EEs can be tougher because while they might exhibit all the traits to meet the standards of either Araucanas or Ameraucanas, if they don't breed true then they aren't really either. True Amerauanas and Araucanas are quite rare breeds. So unless you got them from a reputable breeder it's pretty safe to say you have some good ol' EEs on your hands.
For more information on the specific distinguishing characteristics of the breeds you should visit the breeders' club homepages for both breeds or see if you can find a copy of the APA Standard of Perfection.

Ok, so then Buttercup and Caramella (Sorry, my kids named them!). They are EE's also?

I agree, all EEs. Feed stores and hatcheries sell Ameraucana's and Araucana's, but they are really EEs. To get true, pure bred Ameraucana's and Araucana's, you have to go through a reputable breeder. EEs are wonderful birds! I have three, two lay green eggs and one lays a blue egg, and they are the sweetest birds in my flock!
