Can someone tell me what these are?

I saw this posted on another site and would LOVE to know what they are and maybe where I could get some. I think these are on the side of her chicken run, but Im not sure. Does anyone know what they are? This is the quote beside the her picture.."Ten points to the first person who can guess where the "Eggs" letters came from. (I don't mean what store, I mean what purpose they served in life before becoming chicken coop art. Stephanie, you should be able to get this one."

they are letters from a light up sign, i believe. the old carnival style, before neon. each hole would have a light.
