I'm sorry to inform you that squirrels do in fact eat meat. I watched a squirrel eat one of my baby chicks and have been finding dead chicks in my coop.

This is completely false info. Squirrels do eat meat, lots of it!!!

Yeah, during nesting season with babies needing milk a mother squirrel needs more protein than even nuts can provide. They will kill chicks and steal eggs in a heartbeat. But generally they come to the coop because you have set out an all you can eat buffet. Fix that first, get a treadle feeder, force the squirrels to forage for natural food which is a difficult thing in the best of times. A territory will only support so many squirrels, bringing in a free chicken feed buffet allows squirrel numbers to climb rapidly.

Squirrels most certainly DO eat meat. This is a common misconception, as most people think they do not. When they infact do eat meat regularly. It's just not super common.
