I have 2 hens who will try to go to bed in my shed, every night. Every night I have to grab the same 2 and put them in the coop. Their coop is the back half of the shed and I leave the shed door open for ventilation. I'd let them sleep in the shed but the crap all over the cooler and my tools. And the occasional neighborhood cat.

Will they ever learn to NOT try to sleep in the shed?

can you keep the shed door closed?

we have a people door in my coop and then the chicken door.. my chickens know they will not get in by going in through the people door... when they see me coming in with treats they will all run around to the chicken door to get into the coop

Yes, they have learned that you will put them to bed at night.

As the previous poster mentioned, shut the shed door and keep them cooped for at least a week in the area where you want them to consider "home". They can learn -- it just takes a while and a very clear, direct path.
