Can this chick possibly be a Buff Orpington?

Hi all,

I recently hatched what I thought were 4 Buff Orpington chicks in my incubator. One of the 4 chicks looks considerably different than the others. Aside from the brown streak on its back, it also has an extra rear toe on its left leg. Is this typical or some sort of mutation? Picture is attached.

Thanks,

Anthony

It might be a buff Orpington mix, but it's definitely not a purebred one. Extra toes and feathered legs tend to be pretty dominant traits. They shouldn't just pop up in orpingtons. One of the parents was something else. Could be a faverolles mix. I would contact the person that you got the eggs from to find out what other breeds they have.

Difinitelty going to reach out to the seller of the eggs. Thanks for the input!
