i had a male and a female duckling (7 weeks) got along so well they wouldn’t go anywhere without eachother however two nights ago the male passed away and i can already tell that winnie(the girl) is missing him and as they are social ducks i need to find a companion. the same breeder has two male who are 2 weeks old. if i have one female and two males will that produce competition for the males i’m worried they will fight and one will end up dying it was horrible finding out that my other duck has passed. should i get one if the males or both.

Would not recommend one hen with two drakes.

Not only, will there almost inevitably be fighting between the two drakes over the hen (which in my experience is is not terribly healthy but not lethal), it is also likely (once breeding season starts or they get to breeding age) for two Drakes to over breed just one hen (which can be lethal!).

If you get another drake I would recommend getting just one and possibly getting another hen as well as sourland suggested.

I agree with the above. Five hens with two drakes was pushing it for us. Currently we have one drake and five hens, and that requires management (and the ability to safely separate them while keeping them together) ~April-August.
