Because, peacocks are different - like today i needed to search because I had a pea chick that is being pecked on the beak that was bloody and i am trying to figure out if its nasal cavities are blocked with coagulated blood, and how to check etc. the birds little cheeks are blowing in and out when it breaths and I cant remember if that is OK or not ok. we cleaned its beak up and the structure looks fine however is it possible that the bird would have a bruise on its beak, because the upper section before the nostrils looks a bit darker. The roof of its mouth looks fine. I had a bird a long time ago that was being pecked and I don't remember how long I kept her separated. Its sleeping in my daughters lap right now. Thanks
I'm actually working on another peafowl "class" post about illness, injury, medications and treatments... When I get enough to start the post, I will make the thread and get it stickied next to peafowl 101 and 201. I'm finishing up housing alongside of it, but it will get done (oh yeah, and it's ok for their cheeks to go in and out. Mine get really animated cheeks when they are huffing at me angrily for undignifying them somehow).
