This wandered into our yard the other day and is still here. We have found the owners but they didn't seem too keen on catching him......but he was 40' up an oak tree at the time. They were not pleased when I offered to shoot him for them. They looked even less pleased when I told them how good they tasted stuffed with wild rice;)

On a serious note, how DO you catch one of these big boys? He is quick!

Ummm.... how to catch?

Hope he wanders into a covered run and then shut the gate real quick...

Hope he decides to roost within reach at night...

They are fast, and powerful and will put up a fight when scared or startled. I can't imagine trying to catch my guys if they weren't in a covered run.

Why catch him?

I would start feeding him, in hopes that he stay.

He is gorgeous by the way. If the owners don't want to come catch him, I would let him stay.

I've heard one of the best ways to catch them is wait until they display and try to get behind them and go for the feet. But, you really don't want to catch that beauty.

He would be immediately spoiled rotten if he had wandered into my yard. LOL

Yep, a chicken gets near "his" food and he pecks at them. To their credit, the 7 week old chickens can move fairly quickly.....well, quickly for a chicken;)

And the peacock is getting fed and spoiled here. I'm just trying to be neighborly and help them out by catching him. I do find it interesting that the "man" of that house isn't interested in helping.............

Thanks for the comments folks!
